I managed to get work teaching English at a school in San
Fernando and Tunapuna. It’s a couple of classes teaching SAT exam essay writing
to US university hopefuls. I’m doing lots of traveling around Trinidad, in
cars, maxi taxis, catamaran ferries, and air-conditioned buses. It’s a busy
polluted stinky world – I'm missing white sandy beaches.
Port of Spain
I went on a trip to the Caroni Bird Sanctuary near Port of
Spain with Pim and Hanneke and Liontien. We motored slowly in a shallow
bottomed boat along rivers amongst the mangroves. We saw snakes, iguanas and
lots of scarlet ibises. It was good to
get into the other kind of jungle.
