75. Cool Runnings

Doctor's Cave Beach

Today I went snorkeling with Bob on Doctor’s Cave Beach. Lots of fun, the water was beautiful and clear and I saw lots of colorful fish. I also found a bottle of Boom!

Also funny to see was the Jamaican Olympic bobsleigh, from the film Cool Runnings, in a bar on Gloucester Road.

Cool Runnings

Doctor’s Cave had showers on the beach and inside, as well as a nice bar and restaurant. It’s also a really nice part of town; quite touristy, but not as hectic as downtown, here there are parks and pretty old buildings, cool bars and restaurants, as well as lots of souvenir shops.

74. Bloody Bay

Sonic Boom anchored in Montego Bay

Days seem to float by in Montego Bay, just chilling on my boat watching the boats coming in, and going out again. Charter catamarans, sailboats from the yacht club and every few days a cruise ship comes in to dock.

On Monday I went to the supermarket, had a swim in the pool after lunch and in the evening went for a beer with Dana, my neighbor on the catamaran S/Y Vida Libre, before she left for the states. It’s so nice here; showers, beaches, bars and shopping all near by, all cheap, and also cool, I don’t want to leave.

Seven Mile beach in Negril looks beautiful and anchoring in Bloody Bay is supposed to be amazing. It’s hopefully my next stop in a couple of weeks. Customs may allow me to check out of Montego Bay and stop in Negril for a night on my way to the Caymans.
