134. Stingray City

I took Arnold, Mark and another friend for a dive to the North wall. We motored through the channel, picked up a buoy, hoisted a dive flag and jumped in. Luckily one of Arnold’s friends forgot his BCD so he was our surface watch (which you need if you follow port authority rules). We went down the wall to about 90feet – beautiful coral, lots of fish; we saw Eaglerays swimming above us. Sonic Boom was a bit more rolly than Indigo’s boat; surface watch threw up (he didn’t have a good day).

We went back through the channel and on to stingray city sand bar. Lots and lots of huge stingrays, swam right up to us and the other people standing on the sand bar in about three feet of water, some feeding them squid. Stingrays don’t have teeth but they can suck really hard. I also saw a barracuda, that had plenty teeth.
